The flowers are small with pale purple and white petals of five. The flowers are often found growing in clusters. The stamens are clustered into a cylindrical dark purple tube 6-8mm long. The fruit of the White Cedar is round (1.5cm in diameter) fleshy and yellow in colour when mature. Fruits are poisonous to humans and some other mammals but birds are able to eat the fruits and thus disperse the seed through their droppings. Some reports suggest that 6-8 fruits can be fatal to humans.
White Cedar is often planted as a shade tree because of its dense leave covering. It is planted in parks public gardens stream banks and along side walks or road side (Batcher 2008). The fragrant lilac flowers and yellow fruits of the White Cedar make it an appealing ornamental tree. The hard seeds of the plant can also be used in art and crafts to make beads for rosaries.

Product Notes:
Patersonias are erect herbs with short rhizomes linear leaves and regular three-petalled flowers in terminal clusters enclosed in two large papery bracts. The flower colour varies with the species - white or yellow is rare and usually they are blue through purple with soft delicate petals. Individual flowers open for less than one day but many flowers are produced from the one stem. All plants in a single area will flower on the same day making an impressive display when massed.
The fruit is a long three-celled capsule triangular in cross section with abundant seed which germinates readily with no special treatment. Young plants should be planted out at 30-40 cm centres. Some success has been achieved by dividing clumps but this is not a reliable method of producing new plants. All are moderately frost tolerant.

Pultenaea villosa occurs naturally over a wide area from the south Morton district near Brisbane down through the coastal region of New South Wales to Bega on the south coast.
It forms a graceful weeping shrub 2 m high by 3 m across much branched and spreading. Due to its excellent natural habit the shrub should be allowed to attain its full height and spread to show itself to best advantage. It is thus best grown as a specimen plant. The last 15 cm or so of the branches hang in a weeping manner. The leaves vary in length from 5 mm to 7 mm and are oblong to cuneate in shape and covered with dense short hairs giving the whole plant a greyish bloom.

COMMON NAME: NODDING BLUE LILY
Stypandra glauca is the most commonly encountered species due to its wide distribution.
This is a fairly commonly grown species and it has proven to be hardy in most reasonably drained soils and a sunny or semi-shaded position.
Propagation is relatively easy from seed which does not require any special pre-treatment and older plants can be divided, although the divisions should not be too small.
It has a somewhat shrubby habit of growth with stem-clasping, lance-shaped leaves from 50 to 200 mm long arranged alternately on either side of the stems.
The small, blue flowers occur on branched stems up from the ends of the branches.
The flowers have conspicuous yellow stamens and usually occur in winter and spring.

Product Notes:
The Darling Pea of inland New South Wales and Queensland is a long-lived shrubby perennial worth having in every garden because of its easy cultivation and very long flowering season. Flower spikes are up to 15 cm long and are held well on long stems. They open to sturdy pea flowers nearly 2.5 cm across in colours from pure white through clear pinks and mauves to magenta crimson; these are followed by balloon-like pods often tinted pink. The best display is in November. Top growth is susceptible to frost and in a cold area such as Canberra plants may be partly frosted. However if this wood is cut out at the end of winter it is replaced by strong new stems. Branches are well clothed to ground level with fine pinnate leaves about 10 cm long. They are smooth and sometimes greyish forming a bold graceful outline even without flowers.
